Day 2 [30 Days of Reinvention]

When I started these 30 days of reinvention, my intention was to get up early every day, do that day’s prompt, then go about the rest of my day.

Needless to say, that’s not what happened. Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans, right?

So today is Day 2 for me, and I had a chat with my older & younger selves. We went to a very cool sourdough bakery near me, and spent time nibbling on tasty treats while talking about the past, present, and future. The biggest things that came out where…

My past self is impressed with all I’ve accomplished. She never dreamed I would have my own business for 20+ years – something she had spent a lot of time dreaming about, but was unsure would ever happen.

My future self is supportive, compassionate, and… a bit disappointed. She wants more for/from me, and knows it’s possible because she’s living it already. She encouraged me to keep going, and admitted to being frustrated that I spend time worrying, and feeling stuck, when I could be doing something more rewarding and fulfilling.

That was hard to hear.

I’m sitting with everything I learned today, and keep coming back to the phrase “let me future catch up with me”. I’m feeling this is all areas, personally & professionally. I’m not sure what it exactly means, yet I’m willing to hang in there during these 30 days to see how it plays out.
