Why Reinvent Yourself

Why Reinvent Yourself

Imagine you’re standing at the base of a mountain.

It’s a mountain you’ve had your eye on. You’ve been wondering about it, imagining what it would be like to hike up it, to stand on the top and take in the fresh air and the amazing view, how good it would feel to know you made it.

As you’re standing there imagining the wonderfulness of it all, it also occurs to you that you don’t really know much about getting up a mountain. You’re not sure you’re much of a mountain climber, and you may not have what you need to get up there.

Starting a Reinvention Journey can feel the same way – like the reinvention itself is a mountain, and getting up it seems at once fun and desirable, daunting and intimidating.

Questions pop up: Who are you to reinvent yourself? Is what you’re attempting too big? Is this a good idea? Can you pull it off? Where do you start? Is there any special equipment you need? What happens if you can’t make it?

No matter how big the mountain may seem, it’s your mountain to climb. You’re climbing it because you decided you would, because you’re curious, because you can. Simply because you want to.

It doesn’t matter what age you are, what’s happening in your life, or how equipped you feel – a reinvention is possible, right now, from where you stand. You don’t need any special equipment, either – all you need is permission to get going, permission you’re giving yourself. And if it helps, I’m giving you permission, too.

Why reinvent yourself? Because you’ve decided, and it just may be easier than you think.
