What Do Challenges Mean to You? [+ Video]

I’m Kris Carey and today I want to ask you what challenges mean to you.

I’m curious how you define a challenge, curious what challenges you’re currently facing, and I’m curious what tactics you typically take when a challenge arises.

Some of us feel really challenged in a good way by a challenge — a challenge being something that could potentially be a hardship or a change or an opportunity. There’s a lot of ways to look at what a challenge is. It could be a good challenge, it could be hard or scary, or it could be something that calls you forth.

What challenge are you currently facing? It could be professional. It could be personal.

I know right now I’m challenging myself to speak more openly about all kinds of things in my life and business that I might mention in passing but maybe not say quite as boldly or as loudly or as often. To me, it’s a challenge of being called forth to bring more of myself personally and professionally out into the world. That’s a good challenge. It can also be scary, right? It can be also kind of hard.

There are days when I don’t know how or I feel too vulnerable to do it. That’s why I’m curious how you’re defining challenge and specifically whatever challenge or challenges may be in front of you right now, how you define them can have a lot to do with how you handle them.

So pick one challenge.

So when you look at that challenge, how have you handled it up up until now? And do you like how that’s going. Yeah? It’s going well or you wish it was a little bit better or it’s like it’s not going at all?

So just think about that for a second and feel into it and turn it around in your mind’s eye and just notice whatever there is to notice and then let’s ask the question again. If we’re going to reapproach this challenge knowing what you know because you just gave yourself those 30 seconds to look at it, what could you do new and different to come at this challenge in a way that you feel like is going to produce more of the results that you’d like?

So again, how are you defining this challenge? How can you hold it differently? How can you see it in a new and different light from a different perspective that’ll open up more space and opportunities for how you’d like to handle things?
